I am an international insurance and insurance software expert who has a deep functional knowledge of the insurance/reinsurance business.
My technology experience is primarily based around core administration, risk, actuarial and accounting systems. I have worked extensively on legacy replacement and process reengineering projects and in recent times, Risk, Solvency II and IFRS 17 projects.
For the last five years (with Aptitude Software) I have been working on IFRS 17 and finance modernisation projects in insurance. My primary role has been as a subject matter expert providing pre and post sales expertise. Projects that I have been involved in include AVIVA, AEGON, ALLIANZ, Guardrisk, CAA, Convex and others
Throughout my career with software vendors I have been extensively been involved in working with partners, predominately the big four.
My employment experiences include Sherwood, Oracle, Moodys, Towers Watson , Cap Gemini and Sapiens as well as a number of large insurers. I am also proud of being a member the excellent CAMELOT organisation of Insurance Consultants

Paul is co-founder and board member of the Dutch jurisdiction of XBRL International and one of the driving forces behind the global adoption of XBRL. Paul has a background in finance and Accounting and is involved in pragmatic implementations of digital reporting on a daily basis. As member of the International Specification Workgroup, chairman of the section Technology of XBRL The Netherlands, member of the Implementation Group of XBRL-UK, the Tools Section of XBRL-Germany and the CRAS workgroup, Paul has gained recognition as an expert in definition and deployment of the standard. Paul is member of the board of directors of the ‘XBRL in Europe’ consortium.

Additionally, Alexander has held positions such as Head of Reporting, Data & Analytics, and has excelled in various Program Management roles within ING’s Corporate Risk function.
